PAGE REDESIGN

An internship project aiming to enhance the SEO of salary.com's compensation result pages to ultimately increase page views, clicks, and time on page.

PROBLEM

Salary.com's compensation result pages were facing declining revenue due to the numbers of users on the page decreasing. The goal of this project was to determine how to keep users on the page for a longer period of time and how to encourage them to scroll, click links, buttons, and input information.

DISCOVERY

Working with the Senior UI Designer, we discovered that users were entering the page and taking the salary number straight from the top, then exiting the page immediately with the information they came for. Reevaluating the page, we took note of all features that could be adapted, removed, or added to.

PROCESS

Using Axure and Adobe Photoshop, I tested new features added to the page with high level wireframes and mockups displaying new buttons, links, and an improved hierarchical structure to redesign the page in a way that pushes the user to explore. Presenting these ideas and mockups to the development team and senior management, we continuously tested the placement and addition of revised text, links, and buttons.
